I live in a place with cold, very windy winters, and while I had some down parkas, they were too warm just for going from the house to the car (and too short to keep me warm on cold car seats!). The Thinsulate in this coat is perfect; it keeps me quite comfortable in the cold and wind, especially with the length going to my knees, yet doesn't overheat me when I wear it inside. Plus the Thinsulate makes it thinner and lighter, which is good as I don't like looking like the Michelin Man when wearing a warm coat. It is well-sewn and styled beautifully; the princess seams in the back are very flattering. The zipper is two-way, which is smart as the coat is so long, but a feature which some other long zippered coats lack. The fur trim is super cute, but removable if you'd rather not wear it. I love the belt, which snaps rather than buckles, although as the fabric is rather slippery, I might end up inadvertently losing it. I plan to tack it to one of the belt loops.
One word on sizing: after reading the other reviews carefully, I decided to get a size small because I wanted a close-fitting coat and I don't wear heavy sweaters under coats. I am a size 6, 5'7", and wear a size small in department store misses' sizing. This was the right decision for me and the coat fits me beautifully; however, it does seem to be a slightly smaller small than my other outerwear, so other buyers might want to be aware of this. If you're a size small who likes a little room or who wears chunky sweaters, go with the medium.
Truly a gorgeous coat. I am completely satisfied and happy with it; it was money well spent! I will wear it for years.

Merry S. SoellnerI was looking for a coat that would not only serve as a nice, cold-weather coat, but one that I could wear on dressier occasions as well. This coat serves both purposes well. It is very attractive and fits so well. (By the way, I ordered a Medium, which is a perfect fit for me. I'm a size 6, and I can wear heavy sweaters under the coat.) One item to note is that if you're in Siberia or someplace where the temperatures are consistently low, you might want to consider another coat. While I think it's just fine and warm enough for me, I live in North Carolina, so the temperatures are generally above freezing.

This coat is fabulous. When I first bought this last year, only the chocolate brown was available. It kept me very warm when I went snow tubing last winter. During the move this year, I lost it and now I am buying another one in black. I did a search for women's coats and over 16,000 coats were available. I managed to look through about 100 pages worth (over 2000 coats), and this one seems to be the best. The jacket is worth more than the price I paid for it, so I am buying a second one today. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this coat when I got it, but it's way too big. I usually wear small and medium sizes, but this is definitely a larger medium. I'm sad to have to send it back because other than the size, it's really cute. If you normally wear a large, then I'd go ahead and get this coat.
